2019 Sato North Canterbury Pinot Noir 20L Keg
In 2019 Yoshiaki and Kyoko Sato produced two wines from North Canterbury; a Sauvignon Blanc and a Pinot Noir.
Here, the latter, is from Black Estate's Home Vineyard (BioGro certified organic), where the fruit was hand harvested, shipped overnight to the Sato's own vineyard and winery in Central Otago, and vinified there.
The fruit was given the same treatment that Sato Wines have become renowned for; destemmed, gently macerated for 3 weeks before being basket pressed into aged French oak barriques where it rest on fine lees for 21 months. Unfiltered, unfined, minimal sulphites added prior to kegging.
As you might appreciate putting such a premium wine into keg is new territory for us - and took some persuading to get the Satos on board - so there are just 20 kegs available.
